I’ve Found Electronic Crack

And, no, it’s not porn.  Well, sure, I’m addicted to that too.  But I’ve found loveliness that I can’t stop playing.

World of Warcraft.

I was intrigued by it ever since South Park had an episode where they were all characters off of Warcraft.  So, for Christmas, we all (Travis, Jess, and I) got each other World of Warcraft so that we can play with each other.  We were going to wait until January to play when we got our new computers with the release of Windows Vista.

However, The Crack called us, sang its Siren’s Song…and we heard it loud and clear.  And, after hearing that alluring song, we were unable to turn away.

My Precious…

Yesterday, after I got home, I think I played for 5 hours.  I then turned around, went to bed, woke up, got around super quick, played for another hour, then went to work.

Now the funny part kicks in.

We needed to get Jessica to Level 10 so that we can move her to my realm so that we can play together.  So Travis told me to play Jessica’s character today.  At work.  So, of course there’s someone literally giving me the line of cocaine, glass table, and the bendy straw to snort it with.  Glorious.  So, for around 3-4 hours I played Jessica’s character until Travis had to leave and he took his laptop with him.

That’s why, my dear friends, that I haven’t been posting.  It wasn’t because, like Jennifer, I’m knocking on death’s door, begging to be put out my misery.  I’m not having a family emergency or unable to pay my internet bills.

Oh no, it’s much more twisted then that my dear friends.

I have a sickness.  And strangely enough, it’s a sickness that I love.

My Precious….

The Gods Found It Amusing

So, earlier today I posted that Travis and Jess did not end up getting chosen to adopt Maya.  Instead, Maya’s parents decided to keep and raise her with the help of their parents.  Which is the best alternative, mind you.  But still heart breaking.

I also mentioned that I wanted to spoil a little niece with pretty dresses and frilly things.  Like shopping at Macy’s and Baby Gap.

And, the gods heard my tapping on the keyboard and figured, “Hey, we haven’t kicked Casey in the nuts in awhile…” and kicking they did.

I got this coupon from The Gap today about getting 15% off when you use your Mastercard.  My first thought was, “Shit, I don’t have a Mastercard.  Wait, my bank’s debit card is a Mastercard.”  (Which, as a side note, I almost didn’t get a debit card and just a ATM card due to me never using the debit card.  I always just use my credit card due to me getting money back.  So, the gods were smiling on me at that point.)  But, then my next thought was, “This would have been so great to have when I would be shopping for the pretty baby things.”

Blah

I understand that this was probably the best thing to happen, but it still bites :p

Disappointment

So, I heard from Jess and Travis that Maya’s birth parents have decided to keep Maya due to their parents helping them raise the child. Which, is hugely disappointing to Travis and Jess, along with myself. I was getting all excited to shop for lil’ girlie things the Day After Thanksgiving (known as the most holiest of holidays). However, being that it is disappointing, it’s also the best possible alternative scenario; Maya gets to stay with her birth parents. And, like what Jessica was saying, at least they didn’t have the opportunity to bond with the child beforehand because of it being such an unusual situation.

I just really wanted to spoil her rotten, ya’ know :( Was gonna go to Macy’s and Baby Gap and buy her super cute outfits. *sniff*. But hopefully that’ll come soon.

I don’t think there’s anything else going on around here though.

Ohh. Apparently Brandi’s (my sister, which will be known as Dirty Sanitary Napkin Lady, or DSNL) car is going to die or already dead. I don’t know these things about cars. The head gasket went out of it and she is looking for a new car. Due to her age and lack of credit, she has to get it from one of these buy here/pay here car places. And, the interest rate is gonna be 21%!!!!!!!!!!! And, she’ll looking at this 1995 Buick Regal with 95,000 and they were wanting $6,100!!! Travis looked on Kelly Blue Book’s website, and, at MOST, it’s worth $4,500 in EXCELLENT condition. So…I think they’re smoking crack if they’re gonna get anyone to pay that amount for that car. *rolls eyes* But, we shall see.

Travis just left to play with Jessica for awhile. So, I’m sitting here, bored outa my mind. I just really wanna hurt myself right now….soooooooo booorrrrreedddddd!

It’s A Girl!!! Well, Maybe….

So, my brother and I were having fun at work, as always and then he headed off to Celina to get lunch.  Fun.

So, a couple of minutes later, he drives back into work.  Now, mind you, Celina is a good 15 minutes away from where we work at.  So, I looked at him funny, asked him what was going on, and he asked me “What do you think of Maya Nicole?”  I, of course, looked at him stupidly and wondered what was wrong with his brain, as I was freaking hungry!!!  So, I pondered, “Do I know a Maya Nicole?  Have I ever even heard of Maya?”  Travis, apparently, noticed my confusion and said that the adoption agency called and said that they have an emergency situation.

Now, for a quick recap for those that aren’t familiar with my brother and sister-in-law’s situation, they have been infertile for two years.  They’ve tried medicated IUI’s, IVFs, praying, voodoo dances, and chicken sacrifices.  And, strangely enough, the sacrifices didn’t work either…I was sure that it would have done something!  So, they completed their adoption hoop jumping as far as the state is concerned, there’s just a small formality with the adoption agency before they get sticker approved.  Or, as Jess (the sister-in-law) likes to call it, paper pregnant.

So, Jess got a call this afternoon while she was watching her god-son Brady from the adoption agency.  Now, because I have no ethics or qualms with stealing, I’m coping and pasting from her blog:

“And they have an emergency situation. A baby girl was born on the 14th and they are wanting to place her for adoption. She’s 8 lbs 6 oz, healthy, and 20 1/2 inches. Her mother is Brittany, and she’s 16, and the father is named Justin and he’s 15. They’re good students, and although they had no prenatal care (they hid the pregnancy), baby is fine and there were no drugs, alcohol, or smoking during the pregnancy. The baby’s name is Maya Nicole, and they want to keep that name.”

So, they sent a letter to the adoption agency to give to the couple, hoping to get picked for the adoption.  And, check this out…if they get picked by the couple and what not, they could possibly be picking up little Maya this Saturday.

I almost peed myself when Travis told me.  I was jumping around, so excited for them! I mean, I know that they have to be picked by the couple and all of that.  But, I’m just so freaking excited about this opportunity.  I mean, super freaking excited.  Like, if it goes through, I’m spending a shitload of little Maya :).

Everyone, pray/positive think/dance that everything turns out the best way it can.  Which, hopefully, means that Jess and Travis can get little Maya very, very soon.

Will definitely keep everyone up to date on this lovely bit of news.  We’re all thinking and praying for you Jess and Travis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
