It's A Girl!!! Well, Maybe....

So, my brother and I were having fun at work, as always and then he headed off to Celina to get lunch.  Fun.

So, a couple of minutes later, he drives back into work.  Now, mind you, Celina is a good 15 minutes away from where we work at.  So, I looked at him funny, asked him what was going on, and he asked me "What do you think of Maya Nicole?"  I, of course, looked at him stupidly and wondered what was wrong with his brain, as I was freaking hungry!!!  So, I pondered, "Do I know a Maya Nicole?  Have I ever even heard of Maya?"  Travis, apparently, noticed my confusion and said that the adoption agency called and said that they have an emergency situation.

Now, for a quick recap for those that aren't familiar with my brother and sister-in-law's situation, they have been infertile for two years.  They've tried medicated IUI's, IVFs, praying, voodoo dances, and chicken sacrifices.  And, strangely enough, the sacrifices didn't work either...I was sure that it would have done something!  So, they completed their adoption hoop jumping as far as the state is concerned, there's just a small formality with the adoption agency before they get sticker approved.  Or, as Jess (the sister-in-law) likes to call it, paper pregnant.

So, Jess got a call this afternoon while she was watching her god-son Brady from the adoption agency.  Now, because I have no ethics or qualms with stealing, I'm coping and pasting from her blog:

"And they have an emergency situation. A baby girl was born on the 14th and they are wanting to place her for adoption. She's 8 lbs 6 oz, healthy, and 20 1/2 inches. Her mother is Brittany, and she's 16, and the father is named Justin and he's 15. They're good students, and although they had no prenatal care (they hid the pregnancy), baby is fine and there were no drugs, alcohol, or smoking during the pregnancy. The baby's name is Maya Nicole, and they want to keep that name."

So, they sent a letter to the adoption agency to give to the couple, hoping to get picked for the adoption.  And, check this out...if they get picked by the couple and what not, they could possibly be picking up little Maya this Saturday.

I almost peed myself when Travis told me.  I was jumping around, so excited for them! I mean, I know that they have to be picked by the couple and all of that.  But, I'm just so freaking excited about this opportunity.  I mean, super freaking excited.  Like, if it goes through, I'm spending a shitload of little Maya :).

Everyone, pray/positive think/dance that everything turns out the best way it can.  Which, hopefully, means that Jess and Travis can get little Maya very, very soon.

Will definitely keep everyone up to date on this lovely bit of news.  We're all thinking and praying for you Jess and Travis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
