Duplicity To Appease The Masses

I'm not super shocked by her comment, she's a dumb twat. Yea, I called her that...I was going to go about and explain my situation and stance on it but, when you get right down to it, she's a meaningless whore.
And in this particular YouTube posting, you'll hear about all of the Democrats and Republicans denouncing what she said. Which, rightly, they should.
But one thing that I was FLOORED by, and I'm glad that this news report mentions it, is that, when she made the fagot joke, everyone laughed. Hell, a couple of people even CLAPPED! The same people that spun around afterwards and denounced Ann and said that what she said was horridly offensive laughed AND CLAPPED!
If you walk around and spew slander, God speed, it just shows the world what a stupid cunt you are. But don't give her your support (time and time again by offering her the chance to speak *AND* offend people time and time again) but, when she actually says something offensive (and she does it time and time again, no SURPRISE!), you denounce her publicly, appeasing the media and your voters.
Please, for the love of God, Democrats and Republicans, pick a side, any side, and stick to your guns. You're allowed to have your opinion, even though mine is right, you're always allowed to have your opinion. But don't change it depending on where you're at or the mood you're in.
God I hate politics.
There is a time and a place for a lot of things, including stating your mind. If you think gays are an abomination, whatever. If you think gay marriage is wrong, ok. If you think that it ok, whoop dee doo. BUT there is NO TIME AND PLACE for blatant disrespect. And I think that she crossed that line. And as a conservative republican, I PERSONALLY think it's a load of crap.
Not only is that sort of language not acceptable as a funny-ha-ha on another politician when speaking at a convention, it's not acceptable to trivialize what that sort of language implies, which is, to me, a disprespect for gay Americans. And agree with anything in that area politically or not, human beings deserve respect.
I, as you know, have differing opinions from you on what is right and what is not, but to be honest? I don't have any more idea what God would want someone born as a gay man or woman to do with their sexual preferance than anyone else, and it's not my place to judge anyway (subsequently I'm GLAD that it's not my place, because I wouldn't know what to do). I know that I WILDLY differ from my republican conservative allies in saying that people are BORN GAY OR LESBIAN, but I have pretty much no doubt on that issue, and therefore, by that very thing, by the fact that GOD MADE gays and lesbians just like he MADE straight people, there is NO ROOM for disrespect because of sexual preferance.
I mean goodness sakes, people, PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE. It's not ok to call someone with mental disabilities a retard or someone who's super intelligent an egg head, so why is it ok to joke that someone is gay by calling them a faggot? WHY is it ok to joke that someone is GAY? They don't joke that George Bush is straight!
(I say that stuff is inappropriate, but what I mean is unless it's all in good fun, and private. Between friends. But that sort of shit is NOT for conventions. Geesh.) (Comment this)

Where as a kid in school that was actually called fagot time and time again while being pushed down stairs and spraining my ankles... My most traumatic memories stem from high school and being verbally/physically abused while "just being taunted."
